Letter to Applicants from the Training Administrator
Instructions for those who wish to apply to our program.

Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the Forensic Psychiatry Residency program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The Residency Training Director is Peter N. Barboriak, M.D., Ph.D., and the Associate Director is Alyson Kuroski-Mazzei, D.O.
Currently, we are accepting applications for entry into the 2010-2011 training program. If you are interested in applying for one of our two available positions, please read the instructions given below.
The UNC Hospitals Application for Appointment to House Staff, along with information on salaries, benefits, and policies may be found on the Web site of the UNC Hospitals' Office of Graduate Medical Education at http://gme.unchealthcare.org/applyresidents. Should you decide to apply, please download and complete the UNC Hospitals Application for Appointment to House Staff.
In addition to the Application for Appointment to House Staff, Forensic Psychiatry applicants should also submit the following:
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Personal Statement;
- Dean's Letter;
- Official Medical School Transcripts;
- Official USMLE Transcripts;
- ECFMG Status Reports for all International Medical Graduates. (Please note that although we may accept the J-1 visa, we do not apply for the visa on behalf of an applicant.);
- Letters from Training Directors of ALL current and previous residency programs (completion of an accredited general psychiatry residency is required prior to entry into our program);
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation from medical professionals (not residents) with whom you have worked.
