Admission to the Program

The decision to enter treatment for an eating disorder can be a difficult one both for the patient and for family members. At UNC, we endeavor to make the process as comfortable as possible for all involved. Anyone seeking care in the program receives a comprehensive assessment with appropriate attention to both psychological and medical concerns. The treatment team then discusses treatment needs and anticipated course of treatment and recommends the optimal level of care in consultation with the individual and family members whenever possible.

The UNC Eating Disorders Program accepts most insurance and North Carolina Medicaid. The financial team is available to assist with reviewing payment options.

A qualified health care professional is required to complete a referral form for individuals seeking care. Please fax the completed referral form to Tori Toles, RN, Admissions Coordinator at (919) 843-5601 or e-mail to vtoles@unch.unc.edu.
