Summary
Statement:
Dr. Love serves as Clinical Director
of the Asheville TEACCH Center, part
of the statewide TEACCH program for
autism services. His clinical focus
as a psychologist is concerned with
diagnostic evaluation, assessment
and consultation for children, adolescent
and adults with autism spectrum disorders.
He is particularly interested in the
social development and social perceptions
of individuals with autism, a focus
of his doctoral dissertation. Dr.
Love does a great deal of training
regionally, nationally and internationally
on the Structured Teaching approach
and in the treatment and education
of individuals with autism. He serves
on the board of a local group home
agency and consults to other community
service providers for individuals
with autism. Dr. Love supervises several
masters’ level psychologists
who work with individuals with autism.
Dr. Love is a consulting editor with
the Journal of Autism and Developmental
Disorders.
