Statement:
Dr. Haggerty is an Associate Professor
of Psychiatry at the UNC School of
Medicine in Chapel Hill, where he
has been a full time faculty member
since 1980. He is Director of the
Division of Social & Community
Psychiatry at UNC, and Director of
departmental AHEC (Area Health Education
Program) training. He has published
and conducted research in the areas
of psychiatric aspects of medical
illness, psychoendocrinology, and
the treatment of depression. He practices
and teaches general adult inpatient
and outpatient psychiatry at UNC Hospitals
in Chapel Hill.
