The 23rd Annual George C. Ham Symposium
General Information
The
23rd Annual George C. Ham Symposium
(April 11-12, 2008) will explore important
issues in psychiatry supported by
recent or current research.
The weekend offers active Ham Society
members a chance to mingle and socialize
with colleagues and mentors, past
and present, who may live far away.
The event is well-organized and promises
not only to provide educational and
professional inspiration, but enjoyment
as well. We hope you will join
your colleagues in Chapel Hill for
this wonderful event.
Four nationally renowned academic
psychiatrists will discuss a variety
of important clinical and research
topics. Our speakers and their topics
are:
Robert
N. Golden, MD
- The
Neurobiology of Child Abuse and
Neglect: Implications for the Treatment
of Mood and Anxiety
Charles
Nemeroff, MD, PhD
- American
Mania: Have We Spawned an Addictive
Society?
Peter
C. Whybrow, MD
Target
Audience
The Ham Symposium is designed for
psychiatrists, clinical psychologists,
psychiatric social workers, and other
mental health professionals.
Each year, although the majority of
participants come from the triangle/triad
area, other parts of the country are
also represented. In the past,
we have had guests from as many as
eleven different states.
